johnrJohn D. Richards III
John received his juris doctorate in 1999 from the Franklin Pierce Law Center and was a third year visiting student at the Brigham Young University, J. Reuben Clark Law School. He has practiced in the area of HOA representation his entire career. John frequently writes articles for HOA periodicals and newsletters, has acted as associate editor of the 2003 and 2004 Utah HOA Handbooks, and conducts HOA law seminars, as well as real estate licensee continuing education courses, on a regular basis. John has also successfully lobbied several bills in front of the Utah State Legislature dealing with HOA issues, including certain amendments to the Utah Condominium Ownership Act and introduction of the Utah Community Association Act.

John is currently president of the Utah Chapter of Community Associations Institute. He is licensed to practice in Oregon and Utah. John received his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Utah.

curt 2008Curtis G. Kimble
Curtis graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2002, where he was a fellow and founding student member of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Law. Curtis has cultivated a broad but meticulous knowledge of the law. He has practiced in the area of business and securities law, ensuring that start-up and existing businesses comply with both federal and state regulations. He has also appealed major land use designations of the Federal Government, including the Bureau of Land Management, in order to assure open access to our public lands here in Utah.

Curtis has practiced community association law with the dedicated team at Richards, Kimble & Winn since the summer of 2006. He has gained broad knowledge and experience in the area of common interest property law. Curtis remains adept at assisting many types of clients in their general business needs, as well as preparing wills and estate planning, and, of course, all aspects of homeowners’ association law.

Curtis received a B.A. degree in English, with a minor in business at the University of Utah. He is a partner at the law firm of Richards, Kimble & Winn, P.C.

Matthew J. Winn
Matt has been with the Firm since 2006 and has also worked in various aspects of real estate including construction and development.  He graduated from the University of Utah College of Law.  Matt is involved in all of the practice areas at Richards, Kimble & Winn.

patsy 2008Patsy R. Young
Patsy graduated from Texas Wesleyan School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas, where she was an editor of Law Review and a member of the Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity. During her career in Texas, Patsy practiced in the areas of family law, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and personal injury. In 2006, Patsy relocated to Utah and joined Richards, Kimble & Winn in the rapidly growing field of community association law. She will be licensed to practice law in Utah in the near future.

At present, Patsy is spearheading the collections department at Richards and Kimble, where she effectively maintains pleasant relationships among clients, homeowners, and attorneys while efficiently resolving the delicate task of collections.

Patsy received a B.S. in Sociology and English from Brigham Young University, and traveled the world while her family was part of the U.S. Marine Corps.
